In the last Parish Council newsletter we informed you that the Cabinet of Darlington Borough Council would be deciding on the new housing sites in the Parish on the 2nd December last year. The decision was not taken on the sites because the Council had to carry out further work on its local plan and it would not be ready until the Summer of this year.
The Borough Council then lost an appeal to the Planning Inspector over a major housing
development in Middleton St. George over its predicted housing needs in the Borough. The decision has opened the floodgates for major housing developments across the Borough including Whessoe Parish.
Taylor Wimpey Developments will be holding a pre planning public consultation on their plans for the Berrymead Farm housing development. The public consultation will be held on THURSDAY 23RD APRIL FROM 3PM TO 7.30 PM. IN WHESSOE PARISH HALL.
Please come along and make your views known about this housing development.
